Perfection to Scale - Amalgam Collection

The most perfect models, you could ever dream of

For most of us, our first foray into an automotive obsession are toys. Sat in the lounge or bedroom as children, piloting Matchbox and Hot Wheels cars around the infamous streets of that rug that everyone seemed to own. In a time gone by, shops like Model Zone would be a safe haven for us future collectors, ogling at which 1:18 scale car we'd dream of next.

When we noticed the Amalgam Collection models available on our Automobilia, Parts & Plates auctions, we had to look into the brand some more!

Model cars made dreams all that more attainable, bringing the experience and joy of cars far out of our reach, just that little bit closer. Most of us, still have some of them to this day. Some may be gathering dust at the back of shelves, or in storage containers in lofts and garages. But there are those few, just too special to hide away. Maybe a Starsky & Hutch Gran Torino, or maybe the model is less important, but it was a gift from a loved one no longer with you.

Either way, as graceful and special as those models are, they don't hold a candle to the work that is produced by Bristol based firm, Amalgam Collection. They have taken the term model car to a whole new dimension. Utilising modern day CAD & CAM design technology, they are able to produce milimeter perfect and accurate represenatations of vehicles, with bonkers detailing.

Amalgam's models are available in a variation of size, some like the more common 1:18 scale that most of us would be used to. But if your budget can stretch, they'll offer models in a much larger scale. Infact, Amalgam state that if you have the funds, they have the capability to make it, so maybe you want a bespoke model, perfectly matching a car iconic to you? Well they can do that!

All this amazing craftsmanship does, however, come with a cost, most of Amalgam's models start at around £800, though prices climb quickly, and can be seen well past the £15,000 mark. This large price tag is not to be scoffed at though, as Amalgam's team say that even the most basic of their models can take up to 6 weeks to produce.

We're incredibly lucky to be able to offer a handful of Amalgam models for Auction in our latest Automobilia, Parts & Plates sale, make sure you're registered to bid for your chance to own one of these iconic and special collectables.
