Defining a Segment: 2008 Bentley Continental GT in a Carhuna Auction

Engineering excellence and supercar performance were at its core, featuring a 6-litre twin-turbocharged 12-cylinder engine in W formation developed and tuned by Bentley. The Continental GT redefined Grand Touring: between 2003 and 2010, Bentley created a grand tourer that turned both the driver's head and heart.

In 2005, Bentley introduced a convertible model, featuring the same powerful W12 engine as the Continental GT, allowing drivers to experience the grand tour in the open air. The creation of a Speed model in 2007 further explored the performance capabilities of the powerful GT, while still offering unmatched levels of refinement and craftsmanship. This model also became available as a convertible in 2009.

For 2008, the Continental GT received a host of updates, including subtle styling changes such as a more upright front grille and larger lower air intakes for improved engine cooling. Chromed headlamp bezels and new colours like Cumbrian Green and Granite Grey were introduced. Additionally, the 2008 models benefited from a 35kg weight reduction, increased use of aluminium parts, revised steering, and a new "Sport Traction" mode. These updates resulted in a car that brought the marque closer to its racing roots while retaining the luxurious comfort Bentley is known for.

This 2008 Bentley Continental GT in Mulliner Driving Specification and available in a live Carhuna auction, is finished in Granite Grey over a Beluga Black Diamond quilted hide. Purchased by a DK Engineering director in 2015, it has been meticulously maintained and presented with just 32,800 miles.
