The E60 generation of M’s, happens to be the first & the last V10, whilst also the most powerful & the last naturally aspirated engine to power an M car.
Ever since the introduction of “New Class” in the 1960’s, W. Hofmeister’s design & proportions were interrupted for the first time with Chris Bangle’s design (“Bangle Butt”), adding to the ‘one of a kind’ bucket list.
The E60 generation is the technological pinnacle that coincided with the dawn of the sports sedans / coupes, defining it as a peak of the naturally aspirated M cars.
