General Description
This Porsche 911 Carrera Sport is an impressive example of the sought-after modern classic sports car, in the same ownership for 12 years with a host of discerning performance and cosmetic upgrades by many specialists, including Tuthill Porsche.
Now boasting a powerful 964 3.6-litre RS-specification flat-six, as well as uprated suspension and brakes, it would make a distinctive addition to any assembly of Porsches, and an engaging yet eminently usable weekend toy or road trip companion.
● This Porsche 911 Carrera Sport is an attention-grabbing and tastefully modified example of the iconic 1980s sports car. While this car left the factory as a Carrera Sport 3.2, it is now powered by a rebuilt 964-type ‘RS specification’ 3.6-litre air-cooled flat-six, now producing up to 292bhp via a rebuilt five-speed ‘915’ manual transmission
● It is finished in the eye-catching shade of Blood Orange with black Carrera side decals, over a black interior, featuring modern Recaro leather-trimmed bucket seats and a centre console delete
● It rides on a set of 16-inch Fuchs alloy wheels finished in satin black with polished lips, framing black Tuthill six-piston callipers, and shod in Continental SportContact tyres.
● The specification includes bumper bellows, headlamp washers, heated windscreens, heater and ventilation controls, electric windows, and a sunroof.
● The engine, suspension and chassis have been upgraded including a 964 3.6-litre RS-specification flat-six rebuilt by Nick Fulljames & installed by Bob Watson Engineering, EXE-TC fully adjustable road/tarmac rally suspension, Motec ECU mapping on a rolling road by Wayne Scofield, and a bespoke undertray by John Williams offering an unrivalled Ride Height.
● This example also features a Momo deep-dish 350mm Alcantara-trimmed steering wheel, a heated front windscreen running on a 10-minute timed relay, upgraded LED headlights, an RS-style rear ducktail engine cover, a Blaupunkt SQR 46 DAB stereo with Bluetooth connectivity and USB inputs, an Auto Audio sound system, and a battery kill switch. The rev-counter has also been rotated to give the driver a better view of the optimum shift zone.
● Classic Retrofit air-conditioning system with high-output alternator has just been installed although this upgrade has not yet been photographed.
● The car comes with an extensive maintenance history, three sets of keys, a spare wheel, the IROC-style spoiler in matching body colour, the V5C, a high-quality waterproof breathable car cover, owner’s manual, the Blaupunkt instruction booklet and remote control, a partially stamped service booklet, and the original Porsche AFN purchase invoice.
● The registration ‘A4 WMY’ is included in the sale as is a high quality lockable car cover, a front splitter (for Hill Climbs or Sprints) and an IROC style spoiler, also in Blood Orange.
● The recently resprayed Blood Orange paintwork is in excellent overall condition, though there are minor stone chips on the front bumper, a small scuff on the offside front bumper overrider, and some tiny blemishes elsewhere.
● Inside, the cabin is in very good shape. There is mild creasing on the seats and slight wear to the driver’s outer bolster, as well as small scuffs on the seat backs. Please note a 3-inch tear and some other smaller nicks in the headlining, and one missing slat in the centre console air vents. The headlinging would be £1,000 to renew and the center cosole vent is £120.
● There are no mechanical or electrical faults and there are no warning lights on the dashboard.
● The most recent MOT test was on 17 March 2023 at 160,828 miles, and was a clean first-time pass.
