About this specific vehicle
1967 ASTON MARTIN DB6 VANTAGE
This car has a fantastic history having been owned by Dr N Power up until 1st April 1997 where the ownership of the car was passed to Mr M Power who we believe to be Dr N Power's son. He kept the car until selling it in 2015. Remarkably the car had remained within the same family for 48 years and was very well cared for during this period having been maintained by Aston Martin Specialists R S Williams and Pugsley & Lewis.
Chassis Number DB6/3029/R is finished in Olive metallic with Black leather interior was supplied with the following factory optional extras :- Vantage Engine, 3.73.1 Limited slip differential, Chrome Wire Wheels, Heated rear windscreen, 3 Ear hub caps, Power operated Aerial, Factory build sheet supplied on file. This Aston was serviced by the factory up to 1972, the details being recorded on build sheet's reverse.
Correspondence on file from Aston Martin Newport Pagnell to Dr N Power in July 1974 details works required totalling £2,000 – more than the car was worth at that time ! Dr N Power then entrusted the DB6 to renowned marque specialists R S Williams Ltd, who carried out the maintenance works. R S Williams subsequently serviced the car (in 1981/82), which included fitting a low-ratio steering rack. A smaller wood-rim steering wheel was also fitted.
In May 1990 the Aston was given to Pugsley & Lewis for a full restoration. The car was stripped to bare metal, all chassis rot cut out, new sills fitted and then re-sprayed, while the engine, gearbox rear axle and suspension were rebuilt. These works were completed in June 1992 at a cost of circa £30,000. R S Williams continued to maintain the DB6, the latter bill (for £8,000) detailing a front suspension rebuild, general maintenance, ignition system overhaul, carburettor tune, making both electric windows work, and fitting new tyres, shock absorbers and brake pipes. There were further works carried out in May 2009 to modify the exhaust and in July 2015 R S Williams again serviced the car and fitted a set of refurbished wire wheels.
An Engine rebuild was carried out in 2021 at a cost of over £14,000.
This DB6 Vantage displays a believed-genuine total of only 30,858 miles on the odometer. Presented in very good condition, it is offered with a very comprehensive history folder
