A quarter of a century ago, Audi brought out a car that would satiate the market's sudden appetite for a small sports car. It was underpinned by the Golf's internals but it was the design that made buyers fall in love with it. The car was the Audi TT, and 25 years after its introduction, Audi announced that they'd no longer make one. Which is a misery, because over the last two and a half decades, the TT has, in many iterations, brought joy to its customers. It looked great, it drove well, and most importantly, it presented a great balance of sporting character and everyday usability. Although not the most focussed, the TT never lacked enjoyment, which the more special models like the TTS and the RS took to new heights.

The third-generation Audi TT was launched in 2014 and has since exhibited great form, thanks to a newer modular platform, sharper styling, and also great usability. Equipped with quattro AWD system, the TTS proves to be a great everyday car, which turns out to be even better when it's commissioned with the task of going faster. The 2-litre turbocharged inline-four engine makes 302 bhp and 295 lb-ft, enough to send the TTS flying to 60 mph from a standstill in well under 5 seconds.

What we have here, listed by CSH Performance Ltd., is a brilliant 2021 Audi TTS Black Edition. Finished in black complete with a contrasting red interior, the dual-clutch S-Tronic gearbox car is in what the seller describes as spotless condition and comes with some factory extras and an Audi service record. It was first registered in March 2021, has just two owners from new and only 21,200 miles on the clock.

Service History:

The 2021 TTS has always been serviced at Audi and comes with a record to back that claim. According to the seller, its delivery inspection happened on __, followed by an oil change at 8295 miles in December 2021, and eventually, the third service, which included an oil change and inspection, at 19065 miles in October 2022. The car has a valid MoT and it cleared the previous one without any advisory.

Even as a popular car, made on an even popular platform, the Audi TT has a bit of a non-conformist attribute to it. With AWD, a 2-litre turbocharged engine with a dual-clutch gearbox, and a familiar Audi design, it won't be mistaken for anything else. But the fact that you can have one without a large touchscreen infotainment system screen taking up the entirety of the dashboard is well, refreshing. In fact, it comes with no central screen at all, and the telephony/media functions are displayed on a high-res 'Audi Virtual Cockpit' driver display. The AC vents do have nice readout screens fitted at the centre of each to display climate control stats.

This Audi TTS comes with Apple CarPlay, heated sports seats (leather with diamond stitching), a reversing camera, keyless entry and go, adaptive suspension, and a Bang & Olufsen speaker system. On the outside, it gets a selection elements finished in black: non-standard badges, front splitter, and even a colour-coded spoiler.

In terms of condition, as you'd expect from a well-maintained car, there isn't anything wrong. The paintwork appears to be free from any damage. The interior, while it looks fresh, does show some tiny signs of wear: the front seats have some use-related wear and there's a minute scratch on the nearside door's speaker grille. And like the rest of the car, the TTS's cabin was never expected to not be a special place to be — and it definitely isn't ordinary.

The TT isn't a direct alternative to something like the Porsche Cayman because it's a very different approach to covering ground quickly. Responsive to driver inputs but remarkably stable on the whole, the TTS is a great way to relish driving — even when you don't want everything turned to eleven. Audi made a great car for 25 years and as a thoroughly nice modern German coupe, it's going to be a potentially worthy addition to your collection, too.
