Long before the 911 Dakar and the Huracan Sterrato were released to the world, Ariel launched a car that redefined the off-roader. Boasting supercar-like performance figures, wrapped in a minimalist rugged design, the Nomad redefines what is possible and offers owners a true ‘go-anywhere’ solution.
Weighing in at just 670kg thanks to its tubular steel frame, and powered by a Honda-sourced 235hp 2.4-litre engine means that 0-60 mph is possible in an eye-watering 3.4 seconds, which should be of no surprise from a company responsible for the groundbreaking Ariel Atom. Whilst the Atom offers a harsh but focused driving experience honed for the track, the Nomad benefits from a softer suspension that makes itself at home both on the road as well as far away from it.
This particular Nomad was supplied new to Derbyshire to its first owner, an avid enthusiast whose experience with the car was detailed by CAR magazine after he switched from his McLaren 540C.
Specced with an eye-popping pure orange frame in which during the ordering process numerous options were meticulously added including a short final drive for enhanced performance, an uprated clutch with a K20 flywheel, as well as a cat bypass pipe for improved exhaust flow. The vehicle also boasts Alcon brake upgrades for superior stopping power and a quick-release steering wheel for added convenience and is currently equipped with 15-inch rally wheels fitted with BF Goodrich Knobby tyres. An additional set of 18-inch wheels with road tyres are also supplied within the sale.
The vehicle presents in an unblemished condition with a few minor stonechips to be expected from a car of this nature. Also supplied is a car cover, trickle charger as well as a TomTom Europe GPS and satellite navigation system. Furthermore, this example has benefitted from a recent service at Ariel prior to sale
An MoT has been carried out on-time every year since its first in 2019 with the most recent one on the 6th November 2023 resulting in a first time pass with no advisories.
The most recent service was carried out in January of 2023 at Ariel consisting of repair work to the exhaust manifold.
Having beneifted from multiple owners adding to the options list throughout its existence, the options on the car today are as follows:
