General Description
First announced on the 24th August 2004 - The F430 signaled the arrival of a brand new generation of Ferrari 8-cylinder models. This new car took Ferrari's extraordinary achievements with aluminium technology, that begun with the 360 Modena, to a whole new level offering a series of extremely significant innovations directly derived from the Ferrari Formula 1 single-seaters.
Two of these innovations were world firsts for production cars being the electronic differential (E-Diff) and the steering wheel-mounted switch (better known to the Formula 1 Scuderia's drivers as "Manettino"), which manages the integrated systems governing the vehicles dynamics. The F430 has a compact 4,300 cc 90° V8 engine, which punches out 490 hp to achieve a specific output of 114 hp/litre, also providing the Ferrari with a power to weight ratio of 2.8 kg/hp (dry weight); thus helping the 430 to achieve a most impressive 0-62 mph acceleration time of just 4 seconds and a top speed in excess of 196 mph. Another particular advance made by the 430 was the aerodynamic design that embodied the very latest competition technologies, specifically the flat underbody and large rear diffuser to help increase downforce.
The F430 Spider was debuted in Geneva and features Ferraris most advanced fabric folding roof to date. A huge amount of development on Ferrari's behalf ensured that the Spider retained the torsional rigidity of its Berlinetta counterpart, and it showed. EVO magazine thought so fondly of the Spider that they commented "The question isn't why you would want the Spider version of the F430 but why you wouldn't." The Spider has everything that makes the Berlinetta a great car but with the ability to hear the supreme V8 all the more clearly.
About this specific vehicle
This UK right hand drive F430 Spider was delivered new to Mr Mark Teltscher on the 19th of December 2005 via Maranello Egham. A well-seasoned professional poker player, Teltscher had won the no limit Texas hold 'em main event of the European Poker Tour's second season event in London, taking home the £280,000 first prize in September of that year. Clearly in the mood to celebrate, Teltscher immediately went about finding a Ferrari to fulfil his desire.
Optioned new in the desirable Rosso Corsa over a Nero 8500 leather interior, this F430 Spider presents today in its original specification with the matching Rosso Corsa brake calipers holstered by its 19-inch wheels. The interior saw some generous options including the high-power Hi-Fi with subwoofer and also carbon fibre resplendent on the dashboard and central tunnel.
The F430 would stay in the hands of Teltscher until March of 2013 when passing to its second owner, Mr James Ryan of Newbury, who would only keep the car for half a year before passing to its penultimate keeper in September of the same year. Throughout its life, the car saw regular servicing by Ferrari main dealerships such as H.R. Owen, Maranello Egham, Graypaul Ferrari Birmingham, and specialists alike.
In September 2017, the current keeper purchased the vehicle with 39k miles. The decision was made to immediately send the car to the DK Engineering workshops where it was inspected and subsequently brought up to the new owners’ standard as proven by the invoice on file.
Continuing the theme of regular servicing to date, the car has most recently seen a service in March of 2023 at Maranello Egham, for which the invoice found within the ‘Documents’ section at an expenditure of just over £6k.
Most recently, the decision was made to sell the car and during such, the car revisited the DK Engineering workshops for a 2-hour inspection, for which the report generated can be seen attached. It was noted that the roof elastics were not performing up to standard, hindering the functionality of the folding roof, so in preparation for sale this has been rectified by specialists C E Moore. We encourage buyers to read the report closely, as issues have been noted and therefore this sale is being carried out privately, not from trade.
Today, presenting with 47,425 miles, this iconic example of the F430 Spider is ready to be enjoyed by its next owner and accompanied by its complete book pack, Ferrari torch, documentation folio, C-Tek charger, and two keys.
