General Description

Dating back to 1983, the AM General Corporation was awarded a contract to build 55,000 Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWV) to be used by the American Military. Public admiration started to grow rapidly for the design and perhaps most famously by Arnold Schwarzenegger who went as far to lobby AM to bring a civilian model to market for road-use. By 1992 AM answered the call of the public and released the roadgoing Humvee, branded and marketed as the ‘Hummer’. It wasn’t until 1999 when GM acquired AM to which the model was rebranded the Hummer H1 to which name was then used up until the model was discontinued in 2006.

The first interaction of Hummer was available in three different guises: a convertible-like soft top, a four-door hard top, and an "Alpha Wagon" body version. One of the unique selling points of the Hummer was of course its close reality to the M988 that it is based off of. Whilst colour and trim may not be available on the military vehicles, the civilian version carried over portal-axel gears, inboard brakes, and a central tyre-inflation system. In total nearly 12,000 first-generation Hummers were produced.

About this specific vehicle

This particular Hummer H1 was produced in 2001 and was first registered in the UK on 14/11/2006.

It offers a unique selling point of achieving its SVA certificate on 24/08/2004 without any modifications and therefore boasts all the original toys that you can ask for including helicopter/parachute landing hooks, which many have had removed.

The vendor has owned this H1 since 4/4/2015 to which has been a no-expense-spared ownership with the invoices to back it up. Most recent work includes includes extra seats, lockable billet fuel doors and a rehaul of the central tyre-inflation system including quick release valves and new military tyres, one of the unique selling points of the H1. The military camouflage net is included.

The vehicle has always remained in a temperature controlled garage and boasts a comprehensive service history with at least 17 stamps in service booklet and has been looked after by Bauer Millet, the only authorised Hummer dealer in the UK. The service schedule is as follows:
