General Description

Having famously been-unimpressed with the 348, Luca di Montezemolo ensured that Ferrari would return to world-beating status and the F355, alongside the 456 and F50, ushered in a new-era for Ferrari. Launched in Spring of 1994 to critical acclaim, the Ferrari F355 took the motoring world by storm with Clarkson famously quoting it in 1996 as the “The greatest car in the world, ever.”

Penned by Pininfarina, the F355 Spider benefited from over 1,800 hours in the wind tunnel ensuring that it not only looked the part, but sported F1-inspired aerodynamics to keep it glued to the road. The engine was heavily revised from the 348 with displacement increasing from 3.4l to 3.5l and a new innovative 5-valve per cylinder resulting in the highest power-to-displacement ratio of any naturally aspirated roadcar at the time. The results were 375bhp, 0-62mph in 4.7 seconds and redline at an eye-watering 8500rpm, all in harmony with an engine-note like no-other V8 supercar before it. Electronic adjustable dampers were also introduced and further improvements were made to the handling and gearbox to really set the F355 into a class of its own and head and shoulders above its predecessor.

Now 30 years on the F355 has cemented itself as one of the most-important Ferrari’s of its generation, if not of all-time. A true modern-classic that will benefit any collection.

About this specific vehicle

Ordered in the timeless colour scheme of Argento Nurburgring over Bordeaux red leather interior, this F355 GTS was supplied new to its first owner in Beaconsfield on 6th October 1998. Its 7th and current owner acquired the car in 2015 having known the previous owners before him. This particular car was optioned with red brake callipers, rear challenge grille, 6 CD changer and painted removable top.

Boasting a comprehensive history file and full service history with the most recent service undertaken at 16,999 miles in September 2024 by specialists H.R Owen. The work undertaken included new belts, belt tensioner, gaskets and a visual health check  The previous service was undertaken in 2021 and before in 2020 at 16,563 miles at H.R Owen in which a full service was undertaken including belt changes.

The most recent MoT was undertaken in November 2023 resulting in a first time pass with no advisories

The car is supplied with its original book packs, leather pouches and original tool kit

Full disclosure

Today this F355 GTS presents in a great condition for its age. There are no markings to the leather seats or steering wheel, whilst the carpets are also blemish free. There is a small stone chip on the front of the car as well as a few markings on the front bumper.

There are small amounts of wear to the centre console as well as the shift paddles including sticky buttons which is common place for this vehicle. Please view the full disclosure photo section for further details.
