General Description

This lot comprises a very rare and original tool roll for the 288 GTO model, that remains in an exceptionally well-preserved condition.   

Housing the tools is a thick vinyl roll, with a light patina, which has 15 separate stitched pockets for the various items, and is secured by the correct push popper fastenings.  

The set includes four screwdrivers; two with ‘Philips’ cross heads and two with flat heads, both in large and small sizes. The screwdrivers have the correct translucent amber colour handles and moulded grip shape.  

There are eight double-ended spanners/wrenches, ranging from 6/7 size at the smallest end and 20/22 at the largest. They all present the correct ‘Ferrari’ casting marks on one side, and ‘Chrom Vanadium’ on the other. The 14/15 size spanner has a different marking design to the others, as is correct for a genuine 288 GTO tool roll.  

Finally, there are the correct emergency window crank handle tool, the black scripted, red-handled Kravm pliers, and two spare, OEM Champion A59G spark plugs.  

These superb tools have been exceptionally well preserved, and represent a very rare opportunity to acquire a genuine tool roll for the legendary Ferrari 288 GTO supercar. They would be a great acquisition for the lucky owner of such a vehicle – whether to enhance a car’s level of ‘completeness’ for concours judging or as a valuable spare – as well as an important and intriguing addition for a wider collection of Ferrari supercar automobilia.
